Structures in the oceans are subject to environmental forces, such as wind, waves and currents. These forces and associated motions are typically calculated using state-of-the-art software, or can be obtained experimentally in wave basins, towing tanks, current flumes or wind-tunnel facilities. MI&T is the commercial liaison of the UC Berkeley towing tank. Proof-of-concept and Research & Development model tests can be performed quickly and inexpensively in this facility.
